The short code generator can be very easily used to generate the AT shortcodes and to insert them into the post.
The button to the shortcode generator is by default visible in every post and on every page.
If the button is not visible in the editor, it is probably overwritten by another plugin. The alternative button is not visible by default, so you have to go to the advanced settings of the AT.
Settings for the shortcode generator
The following settings can be found under “Affiliate Toolkit -> Settings -> Advanced Settings”.
1. Show additional shortcode generator button
If the default button is not visible in the editor, it is probably overwritten by another plugin. For this case we have an alternative button installed and with this option you can activate it.
2. Use the shortcode generator in these post types
The button for the shortcode generator is visible in every post and on every page. Additionally, it can be activated for CustomPostTypes. Here you only have to set the appropriate hook and the button is already visible with these contribution types as well.
The Shortcode Generator
Some will certainly remember the old shortcode generator, which has been replaced by the new dialog. With this one, you can import and integrate the products easily during the contribution creation and you don’t have to leave the input mask.
1. Use already imported products
Here you can search for all products that have already been created and then use them.
2. Import new product
Here you can import any product from any shop and use it afterwards.
3. Use already created lists
Here you can browse through all already created lists and use them.
4. Create a new list
Easily create a new list with the shortcode generator.
Output window
After you have created the corresponding product or the list, you will be directed to the output window. The output window should be self-explanatory.
For checking, you can find the product or the list (number 1) at the top that you want to insert into your post.
You can choose between 3 shortcode types, which can be inserted.
Template (2)
If you select the option template you can insert any template.
3. Template
Select the template you want to use in your post here.
4. Container-CSS class
Here you can submit several CSS classes to your template. This allows you to override the container via CSS. Placeholders:% cssclass%
5. Element-CSS class
Here you can submit several CSS classes to your template. So you can override the element via CSS.
6. Alignment
If the template supports the alignment, you can specify one. If the template is moved, it may be because of the alignment.
7. Content
Use this field to add values to the template. The content is available with the% content% placeholder in the template.
8. Button type
With this, you can control where the link of the button should be. This overrides the global settings.
9. Hide disclaimer
If you want to hide the disclaimer for only this output, you can adjust the settings it here.
Field (10)
With the option Field you can only add one field. This way, you can, for example, add prices or a shop logo to your post via shortcode.
With the checkbox hyperlink (number 12) you can automatically link the inserted text (to the affiliate product).
Hyperlink (13)
Use the Hyperlink option to link any text (# 14) to the affiliate product.
Override Affiliate-ID (15)
This allows you to override the Amazon affiliate ID for this one shortcode.
Shortcode on the clipboard (16)
By clicking on this option, a dialog opens. Use Ctrl + C to copy the generated shortcode and paste it anywhere in your post.
Insert shortcode (17)
With this option you insert the shortcode directly into the editor. If this is not possible (for example, in the classic editor), the button is not available.
